BORIS CEPEDABORIS CEPEDA is a young musician and a new revelation in piano recitals in Europe and in South America. With an intensive intellectual preparation in Germany, he graduated with high honours at the Arts University in Bremen, under the supervision of Professors Kurt Seibert, Hans Leygraf, Monique Deschausees and Hans Palsson.

Commissioned by Radio Breman, Boris Cepeda recently recorded the popular Variations by Polish composer Karol Szymanowaky and Four Studios for the left hand by Max Reger.

Tonight's recital is focussed in a balanced programme of some European and Latin classics for piano music. The programme is dedicated to establish musical ties between two continents.

The music played by Boris Cepeda established symbolic bridges towards the understanding of the musical heritage of Ecuador, Europe and South America. The music of Gerardo Guevara (b. 1930), and Jose Ignacio Canelos (1898- 1957), is played in an exquisite style with a perfect techniques, and encouraged us to learn more about Ecuador's musical heritage and welcome a new era for the Latin American culture in piano music.
