Overture for orchestra.  This work, like Erosao, was commissioned by the Louisville Orchestra, and released on the first LP in the pioneering First Edition records series.

Not to be confused with Forest of the Amazon = Floresta da Amazonia, written for the film Green Mansions in 1958.

The premiere was in Louisville in 1953, with Robert Witney conducting the Louisville Orchestra.
